Notes and Hints to Using the Reference Database

Here are a few hints that may make using this database easier.  We would be happy to hear any comments or  questions you have.  Please refer these to Karen Walters at crri@andromeda.rutgers.edu.

Highlighting and Copying References

If you are copying citations from this database you may find that you have copied the table and a hyperlink.  To avoid copying the table you should click into the cell and highlight the particular reference you want.

How to Avoid Clicking on the Hyperlinks

Click on a particular cell in a portion of the box (usually the bottom right hand corner) where you do not see a hyperlink.  Then scroll up and select the remainder of the text you want.

How to Narrow your Search

If your search has too many results you should narrow your search by using as many possible choices on the pull down bars.  You may want to try search the titles for a particular word.  You may otherwise try using the subject codes.  See SUBJECTS for the list of codes.

JEL & Econ Lit codes have yet to be entered but will be added to the database at later point in time.
